Colombia
SAIH started its work in Colombia in 2012. The organizations we support work to ensure human rights, access to education, and social justice in a nation facing deep-rooted challenges.
In Colombia, the legacy of European colonization still shapes the lives of indigenous people and Afro-descendants. These groups continue to face challenges in accessing education, land, and influence. Fortunately, we see strong social movements working to combat this historical discrimination.
Organizations led by indigenous and Afro-descendant communities mobilize millions in the fight for political and cultural autonomy. Additionally, there is a robust student movement contributing to the hope for a more just and inclusive society.
